What’s a Bright Futures Personal Profile?

Your Personal Profile is your online CV and a record of your achievements and transferable skills.

It’s where Corporate Bright Futures Members will go to spot talent early for their businesses.  These organisations all recruit graduates like you and are looking for the individuals who are both interested in working in their sector, and stand out from the crowd.

You can add to it and amend it at any time: make it live and take it offline whenever you like!

"A growing number of employers are judging job applicants on their internet reputations, according to a report by business social network Viadeo. The survey of more than 2,000 consumers and 600 employers found that one in five organisations has searched for and found personal information about candidates on the web."

When you’re writing your Personal Profile, think about what makes you special and why a company should engage with you.  What are your career objectives?  Academic achievement is only part of this; detail your relevant work experience including the employability skills you have acquired along the way.

List any awards you have won to demonstrate how motivated and goal-orientated you are; if you’ve been President of any society or captained a sports team, this will highlight your leadership and if you’re already involved in the industry sector you want to work in, talk about it!

You can link to other sites – perhaps a mySpace or Facebook account if it’s appropriate - but remember to always keep it professional.

It’s your space – make it work for you!
