Give us CEO’s not HR!

It is great to have graduates attend events because they are so willing to engage in discussions about their life within their organisation so if the opportunity to chat arises, then take full advantage!! Given that organisations however, recruit across a range of departments, would it not make sense for representatives from those departments to attend? Resource commitments may restrict this in some cases but with enough planning perhaps resource issues could be minimised. It would be great to see some different faces and hear a variety of experiences, so, over to our corporate members!!.......

This is so true. Too many of the activities undertaken by companies on campus are fundametally the same. The events held on campus should go beyond just informing undergraduates and really seek to inspire and excite. Typically, the best people to do this are the leaders of the business who can talk about the vision for the business, the challenges of the future and indeed what they did to get to where they are now! And I know that Bright Futures at Imperial are launching a Leadership programme in early 2008 to acheive exactly this - so my message is...businesses take part, grab this opportuntity to excite and enthuse today's generation fo graduate talent about your sector and industry! It will be well worth it in the battle to secure the best.
