Whilst the British government is encouraging more and more students to obtain degrees and stressing the importance of education, students are becoming increasingly diverse – every student in the UK is forced into fierce competition:
• Every student will obtain a degree.
• Every student with initiative has already obtained relevant work experience.
• It is very rare for graduates to have the necessary skills to hit the ground running in their first graduate job.
If you want to stand out from the crowd - Bright Futures can help you!
We are the London South Bank division of Bright Futures, the largest non-political student-led society in the UK! We organise workshops with leading graduate recruiters to improve our member's employability prospects in a fun and informal environment.
Bright Futures members have the opportunity to develop job0hunting skills and the following employability skills by attending interactive skills-based workshops conducted by major gradate recruiters both on and off campus:
• Teamwork
• Leadership
• Negotiation
• Sales and marketing skills
• Creative Thinking
• Communication
• Problem solving and creativity
These skills are highly valued by leading graduate recruiters and will make you stand out from the crowd of competitors who just have a degree.
LSBU Bright Futures membership also delivers these unique benefits:
• Join a society which is respected and recognised by most major recruiters.
• The opportunity to interact with managers from a wide variety of top graduate recruiters.
• Team up with other ambitious students to compete in local to international competitions
• Meet like-minded people.
• Receive regular emails informing you of opportunities in your field of interest.
Bright Futures is also fun to be involved in. There is something for everyone, whether you are a fresher, a second year (perhaps looking for a summer internship) or a finalist looking for a career. We are part of a large network of societies, letting you get involved at a national scale.
Bright Futures LSBU is as part of LSBU’s Students Union. We hold regular workshops and skills sessions which are open to all Bright Futures members.
Please feel free to contact the team with any questions or suggestions you have.
